ELECTRICAL MACHINES LAB

Area: 415 sq m Facilities are available to conduct experiments in Load Test, Speed Control, Open and Short Circuit Test, Regulation and Equivalent Circuits of DC, AC Machines and Transformers. Lab equipment available includes DC Shunt Motor, DC Series Motor, DC Compound Motor, Transformers, Single Phase and Three Phase Induction Motors and Alternators.

CONTROL SYSTEMS LAB

Area: 208 sq m. Students are provided with the needed facility to conduct experiments in Transfer Function of AC and DC Servo Motor, DC Motor and Generator, Stability Analysis, Digital Simulation of First and Second Order System and Stepper Motor Control System. Lab equipments available include servo motor, stepper motor, MATLAB simulation software.

POWER ELECTRONICS AND DRIVES LAB

Area: 150 sq m. Experiments can be conducted in Characteristics of SCR, MOSFET, TRIAC, IGBT, Inverter Operation, Chopper Operation, Half and Fully Converters, Simulation of Chopper Fed DC Motor, VSI Fed Three Phase Induction Motor, Speed Control of Three Phase Induction Motor. Lab equipments available include of SCR, MOSFET, TRIAC and MOSFET Kits, IGBT based PWM Inverter Kit, AC Controller Kit, CRO, Isolation Transformer, SCR based Commutated Chopper and Resonant DC-DC Converter, DSP based Chopper Drive, PLC based Drives and Speed Control of Brushless DC Motor.

MEASUREMENTS AND INSTRUMENTATION LAB

Area: 76 sq m. The required facility is available to perform experiments in the Measurement of Displacement, Resistance, Inductance, Torque and Angle and to give exposure to AC, DC Bridges and Transient Measurement. Lab equipment available includes of LVDT Kit, DC and Bridges Kit, Pressure Transducer Kit, A/D and D/A Converters, Current Transformer and Instrumentation Amplifier.

ELECTRON DEVICES AND CIRCUITS LAB

Area: 76 sq m. Experiments can be conducted in Verification of Theorems, Transient Response of RL and RC Circuits, Frequency Response of Series and Parallel Resonant Circuits, characteristics of Diode, Zener Diode, Transistor, UJT,SCR, TRIAC,DIAC, Half Wave and Full Wave Rectifiers with Filter, Thermistor, Photo Diode and Photo Transistor. Lab equipments available include of Diode, Zener Diode, Transistor, UJT, SCR, TRIAC, DIAC, Thermistor, Photo Diode and Photo Transistor, CRO and Bread Boards.

POWER SYSTEM SIMULATION LAB

Area: 78 sq m. Facilities are available to conduct experiments in Simulation in Computation and Modeling of Transmission Lines, Formation Bus Matrix, Load Flow Analysis, Fault Analysis, Economic Dispatch and Transient Stability Analysis. Lab equipment available includes of Anna University Power Software, Scilab and MATLAB Simulation Software.
